Online Microsoft Courses

Our instructor-facilitated online courses are informative, fun, convenient, and highly interactive. Our instructors are famous for their ability to create warm and supportive communities of learners. All courses run for six weeks (with a 10-day grace period at the end). Courses are project-oriented and include lessons, quizzes, hands-on assignments, discussion areas, supplementary links, and more. You can complete any course entirely from your home or office, any time of the day or night. Courses include Intro to Microsoft Word, Intro to Microsoft Excel, Intro to Microsoft PowerPoint, Intro to Microsoft Access, Intro to Microsoft Outlook, and Intro to Windows 10. New course sessions begin monthly. The Community Education Center, together with business, education and community partners, offers professional, academic, and personal opportunities for lifelong learning in Elk and Cameron Counties and the surrounding areas. CEC offers college courses, trainings, workshops, career and college advisement, and much more.

Gear Technology (Penn State DuBois Technical Training Session at CEC) –  April 25

This training is suited for beginning/intermediate people within the engineering, quality and sales fields. It will review basic terminology, calculations, gear types and available published standards for inspection methods tolerance levels. The course will include spur and helical gear designs with composite action test methods and will be based around AGMA (American Gear Manufacture Association) published standards. Gear Technology will be held April 25 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Click here for more info & to register. Industrial Math, May 7 – June 18

This class provides students with a review of basic math operations, measurements, and other topics that directly apply to machining and manufacturing, such as precision measurements, angles, area, volume, and gear calculations. Students will be challenged with creative problems and pertinent exercises to help them develop their math skills and the knowledge of their trade. dates: Mon. and Wed., May 7 – June 18 (no class on May 28, Memorial Day). Blueprint Reading, July 9 – 30

This class provides non-engineering personnel with a review of the basics of print reading adnd intermediate interpretation skills. It focuses on accurately extrapolating key details from prints that relate to the cost of manufacturing. It introduces the universal media concepts and a review of print essentials followed by principles and applications of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Fundamentals of GD&T, August 6-27

In this class, starting iwht basic blueprint knowledge, participants will learn the symbols, terminology, and rules of Geometric Tolerancing as prescribed in the current standard. GD&T Hierarchy will be presented to explain the relationship between tolerances and how to most economically apply the concepts. Understanding The Numbers – May 9

Even if you do not have an accounting or financial background, you still need to know your numbers.
